Midsummer in Iceland is a celebration of the Summer solstice, the longest day of the year. The Arctic summer sun provide 24 hours a day light, with as much as 6 hours daily of „golden light“. In fact once the sun had set it wouldn‘t even get dark enough for the stars to come out.
In Icelandic lore, there four nights a year when mystical, magical things happen: one of them Midsummer night. Many amazing things are supposed to happen on this night. One of them could be your wedding day out in the Icelandic nature.

A wedding day of exciting adventure sailing on the Haukur, offers you a close encounter with nature, interesting historic sites, magnificent midnight sun, whale and bird watching and crossing the Arctic Circle at the island of Grímsey.
The Schooner Haukur is today the only traditional gaff rigged sailboat afloat in Iceland, and she plays an important role in preserving knowledge of handling and maintaining a traditional sailing vessel. She has a total of 6 sails with a plain sail area of 132 sqm, which can give her a speed of up to 10 knots under full sails.
